The
History of Wilson Engineering Systems![]() Alex Wilson formed Wilson Engineering Systems in 1987 after leaving the family engineering business in Invercargill and moving up to Auckland to be closer to his major customers. Alex always had a commitment to the timber processing industry and the new company quickly succeeded in becoming actively engaged in that market. It didn't take long for Wilson Engineering Systems to recognise that the New Zealand timber processing market needed quality equipment with the advanced technologies that were available at the time. For this reason, Alex saw the need to have strong support from international supply companies in order to be able to provide the services and products he wanted to offer his customers. The company quickly formed an alliance with ARI AB of Sweden, working together with them on many projects in New Zealand and Australia. This eventually lead to the establishment of the Australian office in 1989.
This gave Wilson Engineering Systems a larger product range to offer the customers throughout Australasia. The company now has strong allegiances with many customers and suppliers, so that regardless of what the customer wishes to achieve, we can usually find an acceptable solution.
