Southpine Chip
Screen Wilson Engineering Systems installed a new chip screen at Southpine in Nelson over the
Christmas shutdown.
Wilson Bros in Invercargill manufactured the new screen and delivered it in time for the shut.
The project meant a complete rebuild of the old chipper house as the new screen was too big to fit into the existing building. Southpine took the opportunity to greatly improve the appearance of the area with a new tilt slab building, as well replacing two small screens with one large one.
The new screen was installed and commissioned on new support steel well within the required time, and is performing very well.
