3D Log Scanner The log scanner uses 3 standard scanner heads. Each head is a manufactured unit containing a line laser, CCD camera, optics and a microcomputer. Scanning data are sent from the 3 heads, over fibre optic cables, to a PC which processes the raw data and combines all scanned co-ordinates into a profile. The logs are scanned 60 times per second and each profile consists of up to 750 co-ordinates. On a 4.5m long log, which is fed through the scanner with 100m/min, over 100,000 co-ordinates will be defined. Technical data:
