High Speed Profiling

Heinola Sawmill Machinery has further developed the optimising, scanning and automation system of the edger in order to apply it to profiling.

Using the same system and optimisation, profiling is now possible with the same high yield that is obtained in edging.

The new mechanical profiling equipment is capable of implementing the optimisation result.

Features enabling high yield in profiling:

• The shape of each reduced cant is scanned and each board optimised individually for the required length.
  
  
• Profiling is performed diagonally following the shape of the cant, even when curve sawing.
  
  
• Either one or two boards can be optimised on each side of the reduced cant.
  
  
• Successful optimisation of profiling is possible even when the line is run at the highest speed.
  
  
• The product mix can be varied to match order-book requirements.  Selected sizes can be prioritised by modifying the parameters of the optimisation program.

A profiling system equipped with optimisation makes it possible to achieve high edging capacity in a compact line solution without sacrificing yield.
