Sorting
Many sawmills throughout the world now aim to perform as much
as possible of the work while the wood is green. This trend suits us well.
Our comprehensive product range enables us to meet almost every requirement
imaginable. All our machines and systems combine gentle lumber handling with high
capacity. They are also thoroughly tested for high reliability and low downtime.
We present here a selection of our system modules.
Board and centre yield infeed systems
Separate board and centre yield infeed for conventional saw lines, or combined
systems for profiling saw lines.
Wane edge assessment and top trimming
Fully automatic, semi-automatic and manual systems. Special functions can
be incorporated, such as antiseptic spraying or lumber brushing to improve the working
environment.
Quality and dimensional inspection
A wide range of systems covers every conceivable requirement for automation,
capacity and working environment. From manual systems up to fully-automated systems
with a capacity of 150 pieces per minute. Automatic detection of wane edge, knots,
cracks and other defects as well as dimensional deviations.
Sorting
Flexible systems adaptable to current and future requirements. For example,
live-bottom bins and tray sorters which satisfy the most stringent requirements for gentle
handling.
Trimming
The Scandinavians have a long tradition of final trimming of
lumber after drying. This practice has its origin in the Scandinavian climate with
its requirement for kiln drying, which generally gives greater dimensional variations than
natural seasoning. The individual machinery modules are of interest in all markets,
since trimming can also be carried out on green lumber. Renholmen offers many modern
but thoroughly tested system solutions, of which just a few are presented here:
Destacking
A choice of different systems to interface with the sawmill's conveyor system.
Infeed Systems
Advanced systems without unscramblers provide exceptionally gentle lumber
handling. Naturally, we also make conventional systems with unscramblers.
Butt Trimming
A choice of several systems with different degrees of automation. We also
make combined butt and top trimming systems.
