This chipper produces fewer pins, fines, slivers and over sized chips than low-spout or drop feed configurations.

Infeed methods that can be used with the Nicholson Whole Log Disc Chipper are belt infeed conveyor, chain infeed conveyor, live roll conveyor and vibrating conveyor.  Chip discharge methods are energy dissipater, bottom discharge and top discharge.

The Nicholson Whole Log Disc Chipper provides the following features:

  • Fast & safe front face / one-man knife change
  • Hydraulic spout opener where required by chipper size
  • Fixed side anvil has two usable carbide edges
  • Fixed bottom bed knife has two usable carbide edges
  • Wear surfaces are replaceable
  • Easy change between knife types
  • Replaceable spout and chipper disc wear plates
  • Several chip discharge methods
  • Optional knife babbitting fixture
  • Optional powered disc turner
